“In the old tribal days we came together to heal, and “remember” as a full body, with the belief, as one heals so do we all heal.”

-Jane Winycote Ely

What is a Shamanic Practitioner?

A Shamanic practitioner means one who sees in the dark, who straddles both worlds; one foot in ordinary reality, one foot in non-ordinary reality.

The Shamanic Practitioner is the one who becomes the “wounded healer” helping others to heal because they cannot heal themselves because they have lost their way for the moment. Like in everything, we have all the wisdom and answers within ourselves but sometimes we need someone to shine the light, to illuminate our path, to walk with us until we find our path again.

In Indigenous Cultures the person who does this work for the tribal community is called the Shaman or “medicine man or woman”. Their role encompasses healing on all levels from physical, mental, spiritual and emotional well-being. They are the ones in the community who perform the rituals and ceremonies of blessing and cleansing.

I personally cannot be called a Shaman because a true Shaman in the real sense of the word is one who is born into a Native American family that has carried this knowledge. The family or community recognizes the child who is going to be the one to carry the tradition and from that time on is walked through the journey and the learning process as an apprentice. They will work side by side with the Shaman in the family or community and when that medicine man or medicine woman, grandmother, grandfather, mother, uncle, aunt or father dies the trained Shaman becomes the healer for the community, their apprentice is born to learn from them.

I was trained as an apprentice by a very gifted healer, Jane Harmon of Allentown, who was trained by Jane Winycote-Ely. I am a practitioner, being trained in the ways of indigenous peoples but not born into a Native American family, not having Native American bloodlines; this is why I do not call myself a Shaman. I give great honor and respect to those Native Shaman who came to this earth for this specific purpose and have spent their life serving. I serve using the techniques I have been taught with reverence, humility and honor to Great Spirit and the spirits of the four corners, the guides and animal spirits that have chosen to work with me. I do have people who refer to me as their Shaman, this is their perspective and right to call me what they feel they experience with me, but I do not refer to myself this way.

I hold the truth I quoted in the beginning by Jane Winycote-Ely, remembering that “as one of us heals, so do we all heal.”

The following list of techniques can each stand alone in a healing session, but also each can work together. As I sit in counsel circle with a person it becomes clear what would be the best technique and approach for the client’s desire.

Types of Sessions offered:

Power Line Healing: to provide strength and support to the physical structure.

Chelation Healing: to clear a person’s emotions and bring balance to relations, spirit, self.

Endocrine Healing: bring harmony and balance to the endocrine organs.

Soul Line Healing: helps to align with the soul’s purpose. Helps in clarity for career, life purpose, and connecting with the fullness of self.

Sound Healing: general healing, finding personal healing grid and shield of protection.

Dream work: bring awareness of our processing from dream symbols for personal growth.

Chakra Awareness: understanding and working with our chakras for personal growth.

Soul Retrieval: the “re-remembering” of parts of ourselves we lost or “dis-remembered”. Helping to bring ourselves to a place of wholeness, completeness.

Shamanic Extraction: analyzing the energy system to discover energy blocks and spiritual intrusions.

Past Life Extraction: the release of core patterns of behavior and old belief systems brought into this life.

Spinal Clearing: clearing the seven main levels of the auric field for deeper emotional healing work, stress, anxiety, as well as a physical healing to structure, systems and organs.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder: releasing a specific trauma from the energy field and cells of the body.

Depossession Techniques: “Sometimes we possess ourselves”; releasing the grip of what or who possesses us and creating a split within our energy fields and within our physical being.

Cord Clearing: To dissolve energetic cord connections that are depleting the energy field. These could be from persons, places, or/and things.

Counsel Practice: sitting as compassionate listener and witness to a person or group of people sharing their story, pain, hurts and injustices, as well as, their joys, happiness and awakenings in life. Through this time of active listening questions are asked and ceremonies may be suggested to further healing and growth. This is often used in the beginning of a session before moving on to the type of modality or therapy we will use next.

“I have had the pleasure of knowing, working with and loving Lorie for the last 4 years. Lorie came into my life when many things were not making sense as I was navigating my spiritual path. As I have moved along this path, Lorie has been with me holding my hand lovingly without judgment and has helped me move into a healthier, clearer place. Lorie is a great friend and teacher. Our sessions which seem to be 4-6 weeks apart, have included the modalities of Reiki, Hypnosis, Meditation, Reflexology, Past Life Regression, Power Line and Cord Adjustments, Soul Retrievals, One Brain, Polarity, Dream Analysis and Journeying. I have never met a more caring and devoted healer than Lorie. I consider myself fortunate to have Lorie in my life and you will as well.”
